The Use of Bracing Dampers in Steel Buildings under Seismic Loading

چکیده

This study focuses on the modeling of manufactured damper when used in steel buildings. The main aim dampers is to protect buildings from damaging effects that may result due earthquakes by introducing an extra damping addition traditional damping.Only Pure Manufactured Dampers, has been considered this study. Viscous generally preferred structural engineering as it leads a linear model then during simulate behavior Damper. After definition parameters (its stiffness and its damping) can be element added mathematical structure. As greater than materials, resulting matrix for whole structure will classified nonclassical damping. most literature earthquake have written terms terminology related mode superposition method applicable classical only. Then, tried check accuracy applied with dampers. In checking, approximated results compared more accurate direct integration method. From comparison, noted different levels depending relation between fundamental frequency dominate earthmotion. If approaching earthmotion, effect important difference increasing vice versa
